Client Etiquette Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Obsession Cleaning and Company Inc. is committed to providing dependable cleaning services while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for our clients and Cleaning Technicians. This policy explains what we ask of clients before and during an appointment.
Respectful conduct
Our Cleaning Technicians must be treated with courtesy and respect.
Harassment, discrimination, threats, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, aggressive behaviour or abusive language will not be tolerated.
If a Cleaning Technician feels unsafe or is treated inappropriately, they may stop work and leave the property. The appointment will then be handled according to our cancellation and refund policies and the circumstances involved.
Preparing for your appointment
Please pick up and put away unnecessary clutter before your Cleaning Technician arrives. This includes dishes, toys, clothing, laundry, paperwork and personal belongings.
Removing clutter allows us to spend the scheduled time cleaning rather than organizing personal items.
Please tell us in advance about areas requiring special attention. Requests outside the agreed scope may require additional time and may affect the service price.
Property access
Clients do not need to be home during their appointment, but reliable entry arrangements must be made in advance.
Please provide any necessary keys, entry codes, alarm instructions or parking information before the scheduled service.
If a Cleaning Technician cannot enter the property when they arrive, the appointment will be treated as a missed appointment under our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
Pets
Our Cleaning Technicians are animal lovers, and pets may remain in the home if they are comfortable around unfamiliar people, cleaning equipment and vacuums.
Pets that are anxious, easily stressed, likely to escape or reactive toward people or equipment must be placed in a secure, quiet area before the appointment begins.
Clients remain responsible for supervising and controlling their pets. A Cleaning Technician may pause or stop work if an animal creates a safety concern.
Children and other occupants
Children and other occupants may remain at the property during the service. Please ensure they do not enter active work areas or interfere with cleaning equipment.
Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult.
Safe working conditions
Please provide a safe environment with access to running water, electricity and working indoor lighting.
Before the appointment, tell us about:
- Broken or unstable furniture and fixtures
- Damaged flooring or surfaces
- Loose railings or unsafe stairs
- Pest or insect concerns
- Mould, bodily fluids, needles or other biological hazards
- Any other condition that could affect the safety of a Cleaning Technician
Weapons must be safely secured and inaccessible throughout the appointment.
Please avoid smoking or vaping inside while Cleaning Technicians are working.
We may decline or stop work when conditions fall outside the agreed service or present a health or safety risk.
Valuables and personal items
Please store cash, jewellery, medications, important documents, fragile objects and sentimental items in a secure location before the appointment.
Tell us about delicate surfaces, valuable furnishings or items requiring special care before cleaning begins.
Cleaning supplies and equipment
We bring the supplies and equipment required for the agreed service and follow WHMIS standards.
Please do not ask a Cleaning Technician to use an unapproved product or piece of equipment without arranging it with the company first.
Cameras and recording devices
We understand that some properties use security cameras or recording devices. Please tell us before the appointment if interior cameras or audio recording devices will be operating in areas where Cleaning Technicians will work.
Cameras must not be placed in areas where a person would reasonably expect privacy.
Illness
Please contact us before the appointment if someone at the property has a contagious illness or if another health concern may affect the service.
We will discuss whether the appointment should proceed or be rescheduled. Cancellation terms may apply depending on the notice provided and the circumstances.
Service concerns
If you believe an agreed part of your cleaning service was missed or was not completed as expected, please contact us within 24 hours after your service.
We must be given a reasonable opportunity to review the concern and, where appropriate, correct it.
