October at Obsession Cleaning

Well, October is here.

Autumn leaves and a Halloween pumpkin

The mornings are colder, the leaves are changing, Halloween decorations are popping up everywhere and somehow Christmas is already starting to creep into the conversation.

It has been a pretty busy stretch at Obsession Cleaning, so this felt like a good time to give everyone a bit of an update on what has been going on.

There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, a lot of cleaning, a lot of planning and some pretty exciting changes too.

Fall Cleaning Is Here

Spring cleaning gets all the attention, but fall is honestly one of the best times to give the house a really good reset.

After summer, there always seems to be more dust, dirt and random stuff hiding around the house than anyone wants to admit.

Baseboards get missed.

Blinds get dusty.

Window tracks somehow collect everything.

Ceiling fans are usually worse than we think.

And kitchens and bathrooms always seem to have a few spots that could use some extra attention.

Once the furnace starts running and everyone is spending more time inside, having the house properly cleaned just feels better.

October is also a good time to get ahead of things before November and December show up and life gets even busier.

A Little Halloween Fun 👻

Halloween is always fun, but it can also make a pretty good mess.

Pumpkin guts on the counter.

Candy wrappers everywhere.

Fake spiderwebs stuck to everything.

And glitter.

We are not even going to talk about glitter.

If you are carving pumpkins this year, put down some parchment paper, newspaper or an old towel before you start. Pumpkin pulp has a way of drying onto counters and tables like it was meant to live there forever.

And if chocolate gets stepped into the carpet on Halloween night, deal with it before it gets ground in.

That is our October cleaning public service announcement. 🎃

Alberta Is Growing

Alberta is home now, and over the past while Obsession Cleaning has been steadily growing in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland County and West Edmonton.

There have already been some really great people to meet and clean for here, and a lot of that early growth has come from referrals and people simply passing our name along.

That means a lot.

Obsession has also joined the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce and is starting to get more involved in the local business community.

The goal is not to grow Alberta overnight.

The goal is to do it properly.

That means finding the right people, training them properly and making sure the quality stays where it should be.

Growing a little slower and doing it right will always matter more than growing fast and losing what makes Obsession, Obsession.

BC Is Still a Big Part of Who We Are

One thing is worth making really clear.

Obsession Cleaning started in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, and BC is still a very important part of the company.

Cleaning there started back in 2016, and a lot of the clients who helped build this company are still with us today.

Obsession has also been lucky enough to be recognized through the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows A List Awards in 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

That support has meant a lot over the years.

To our longtime BC clients, thank you for sticking with us.

To everyone who has referred a friend, family member, neighbour or business, thank you as well.

Word of mouth has played a huge part in getting Obsession to where it is today, and that support is never taken for granted.

A Lot Has Been Happening Behind the Scenes Too

A lot of the work happening lately is not something most clients will ever see.

There has been a lot of attention going into scheduling, training, communication, quality control and making things easier for both staff and clients.

One of the bigger projects has been the development of our own internal system called Obsession OS.

There is still plenty of work going into it, but the direction is exciting.

October Cleaning Tip

Here is a simple one.

Clean from the top down.

Before you wipe counters or vacuum the floor, look up.

Ceiling fans, vents, light fixtures, tops of cabinets and high shelves collect way more dust than most people realize.

If those areas get cleaned after the floors, you are basically doing the job twice.

Start high.

Work your way down.

Vacuum and mop last.

Simple, but it works.

Thinking Ahead to the Holidays

We know.

It is October.

Nobody really wants to hear about Christmas yet.

But from a cleaning point of view, this is when it starts to matter.

November and December can fill up pretty quickly, especially for deep cleans, move in and move out cleans and extra cleaning before family comes over.

If something outside the regular cleaning schedule is going to be needed, giving us a bit of notice makes life a lot easier.

Current services include:

  • Recurring residential cleaning
  • Deep cleaning
  • Move in and move out cleaning
  • Commercial cleaning
  • Pre listing cleaning
  • Post construction cleaning
  • Additional cleaning services depending on the home or property

If you are already a client and want something extra added to an upcoming visit, just reach out and let us know.

Thanks for Being Part of It

Obsession Cleaning has changed a lot since 2016.

Some things have not.

It is still a family owned company.

The work being done under the Obsession name still matters a lot.

And every client who trusts us in their home or business is still appreciated.

Whether you have been with us for years in BC, recently found us in Alberta, worked with us, referred someone or are just discovering Obsession for the first time, thank you.

There is a lot going on right now, and there is plenty more to share as things move along.

Have a great October.

Enjoy Halloween.

And seriously, keep the chocolate out of the carpet.
